 4 Ways To Obey God

It’s about surrendering to God daily and letting Him shape your heart and actions.

Keep growing, Sis, you’ve got this! đź’–

01

 1. Trust His Word Completely

Obedience starts with trusting what God says in His Word, even when it doesn’t align with your feelings or the world’s opinions. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our understanding. When we choose to follow His commands, even when it’s hard, we show God that His Word is our ultimate authority.

 2. Pray for Guidance Daily

Staying connected to God through prayer is vital for obedience. Jesus often withdrew to pray and seek the Father’s will (Luke 5:16). When you ask God for direction, He will guide you to make choices that honor Him. Start your day by praying for wisdom and strength to walk in obedience.

03

3. Keep a Heart of Humility

Humility allows us to acknowledge that God’s ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). Obedience sometimes means surrendering control and accepting that we don’t have all the answers. When we humble ourselves before God, we align our hearts with His perfect plan for our lives.

04

Jesus said the greatest commandment is to love God, and the second is to love others (Matthew 22:37-39). Obedience to God is demonstrated through how we treat people—with kindness, forgiveness, and grace. Serving others, even when it’s inconvenient, is a powerful way to show your love for God.

Ways to Grow Your Relationship with Jesus as a New Christian

Building you for the Kingdom

A Child Of God

  • As a new believer, remember not to be too hard on yourself. When you are born again, you are literally like a newborn baby in the Spirit. Babies don’t walk perfectly right away—they stumble and fall, but they keep trying. Spiritually, it’s the same. Mistakes are part of growth, so don’t let guilt or shame keep you from running back to the Father. The key is to repent, pray, and cast your cares onto the Lord, as 1 Peter 5:7 reminds us: “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” Conviction is a sign that the Holy Spirit is working in you, not a reason to give up.

Always remember, God’s grace is bigger than your mistakes. He knows your heart and is cheering you on in this journey. So, when you stumble, pray for strength, ask for forgiveness, and keep moving forward. Philippians 1:6 encourages us with this truth: â€śBeing confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” You’re in a process of transformation, and God is patient with you every step of the way. đź’–

Fresh in the Word

  • As a new Christian, growing your relationship with Jesus begins with diving into God’s Word. Make it a habit to read the Bible daily, starting with the Gospels to learn about Jesus’ teachings and His heart for humanity. Prayer is also essential; think of it as your personal conversation with God, where you can share your fears, joys, and hopes without hesitation. A Bible-based church community can offer fellowship and accountability, helping you stay rooted in your faith while building meaningful connections. Worshiping through music and expressing gratitude for God’s blessings in your life are other powerful ways to strengthen your bond with Him.

Another way to grow is by studying Scripture with others, whether through a small group or mentorship. Learning alongside fellow believers allows you to ask questions and grow in understanding, fulfilling Proverbs 27:17, “Iron sharpens iron.” Additionally, serving others in love is a beautiful way to follow Jesus’ example and deepen your connection with Him. By volunteering or helping those in need, you reflect God’s love in action. Remember, this journey is not a race but a steady walk with Jesus by your side every step of the way. 💖
